Posting then getting booted offline

Does anybody know if GM has a forum such as the TDR. If someone could pass it to me it would be appreciated. I would like to hear some owner feed back about the duramax.

Sincerely;
Jimp

The site you want is thedieselpage.com. However they are a little paranoid and do not like any negative feedback on their trucks. Beware they will boot you if you disagree with the almighty GM gods.

here's a "link" to goodforboatanchoronly.com

there's a couple of other webforums, besides, but these guys are the most entertaining/paranoid/defensive

this link brings you right to their forums, instead of thru their "front" pages. .

last time i "visited" over there, their server was as slow as an 8-cylinder/7-piston 6. 2 going uphill

Geez. If I spent that much money on a truck I guess I'd have an attitude, too. Those guys hate a Dodge. Heck I could go back to the years when the Chevy's fenders rusted through or the fact that that Chevy never bothered to balance an engine like Ford does. I chose my Ram Diesel and I like it. It's my second one and I'd buy another. There's been Ram problems with transmissions but if I'm not mistaken wasn't NVG (New Venture Gear) started as a joint GM and Dodge effort? Those guys have bought the DMAX. Now they need to get over it. And thinking that 80,000 hours of testing is some kind of new phenomenon. I don't think so. Aluminum is the material of choice. Tell that to the Vega owners. Does the attitude come with the purchase of the truck or is that aftermarket. I have only gotten angry over guys being kicked off their site. I don't wish truck problems on anyone. When I owned a Chevy Diesel I had enough problems of my own. I hope they are successful. They are sure paying a high premium for their success. BTW, for there to be such a shortage of the things, there's a 3500 GMC here in Savannah on the lot. Ready to blow somebody's doors off. Been there for at least a week. What's up with that?

whata joke. an unproven, newly designed, v 8 diesel that is supposedly better than the cummins and the int powerstroke. yeah right. id consider taking theses folks off of my list of reliable sources.

Why should they? Look at how GM bashs the Dodge in their TV commercials. Those ads and what I've read are more than enough to make me happy with my choice. It seems that for the number of those Duramaxs on the road there are some serious problems. The allmighty Allison is haveing its share of failures, the loss of boost while towing(with no idea of a fix as yet),GM is telling the owners to plop her in N shut it off and restart it. I bet that makes for an ugly senerio while pounding uphill, and beds made of tin foil would be a major dissapointment. The price is outrageous as well. Call me crazy but I'll take the Dodge/Cummins combo anyday.

The one here in Savannah is still for sale. They keep moving it around. The dealership is next to the hotel where I'm staying. Looks like about every hour or so, they "re pose" that thing. Must have to crank it alot to charge the batteries or something. When I looked on the GM censorsite I noticed that GM was asking dealers to notify them if they had inventory. I also saw the one guys attempt at relating hours and miles. Based on my calculations, 80,000 hours would be about 3. 5 to 4. 0 million miles based on the old 1 hour = 100,000 revolutions. His logic of going 1 mph for 80,000 hours sounded more like what would have happened at GM. I wish them luck. Just don't get in front of me going up a hill pulling a load. That 300 HP is at the flywheel, not to the ground on that truck.
