This EZ ain't cuttin' it any more.

I would like to build a pretty formidable street machine. Nothing rediculous just something that will make anyone look twice, and most people look three times.

It needs to be driveable, RELIABLE, and get fairly good fuel economy. I've asked this question a few times but now that I've been level headed I know what I want out of this truck.

I would like a twin turbo setup, no two ways about that. I tow a little more often than in the past, but not anything really heavy, and not for really long periods of time. Most of my driving is light to light city driving and backroad driving. Average speed is probably around 50 mph or so. All I really want to do is be able to smoke at will, make plenty of turbo noise, and beat most all rice burners, camaros, mustangs, and without a doubt beat the pants off of anyone with a Powerjoke or Duratrash (this shouldn't be too hard around my area).

I would like for everyone with twins and a 24 valve to tell me what they have done, what they like or dislike, how your driving compares to mine, and if you don't mind... what it cost you to get where you are.

Thanks a whole lot in advance.

Well the 6 speed is your first problem. Pretty hard to become a dragster with that transmission! SNOKING

Yeah, I know good times are pretty hard to pull off with the 6-speed. I'm not planning on really seriously drag racing, most of the time it will be a roll on. My other thought is that I would like to have the power to launch in 3rd if I was drag racing. I've seen a few people do that and pull off some respectable times. My reason for more power isn't so much to race and show off and haul *** everywhere I go, but for my enjoyment. I would love to be able to pull up next to a Z-28 or Mustang GT or something at 30 mph or so, rev at them, and then to make their giggles turn to awes when I'm gone and they're left in a cloud of black smoke. Maybe in the future I'll go to an auto, but as for now, I'll make due with the 6-speed.

Edge Drag Comp

Twins

Mach 3'sa inj's

will put you at around 500-550hp

that should be enough to drive around most people :-laf and still be a good tow vehicle, and street driver!

ditto Graphic man, but i'd have to say Mach 5s at least to run up the twins. then of course there are the studs and o-rings (or fire rings), a cam, and a double disc clutch. probably want nitrous or water injection for some EGT control (water/meth mix for bigger numbers).

PM TJSHOTROD, he just finished the install and is tuning his twins with Mach3s

when i first bought mine i said" just going to add an EZ box and some gauges" thats it

I've been reading about this water/meth injection on a lot of threads, what is that all about?

I was thinking Drag Comp, PDR Street/Strip Twins, etc... I figured that would work.

What would be the difference in power b/t Mach 5's and Mach 3's?

Who makes a good clutch that would handle my application?

Does SB make a dual disc clutch?

Thanks all,

water/meth http://snowperformance.net/

helps lower egt's. works good on high egt single turbo setups.

with twins(the right set) it is not needed for cooling but you can use it to make a few extra hp if you play with the meth percentage.

you will need the mach 5's or 6's if your planning on twins.

read my post above:

1250 degree egt's with drag comp on 5x5 and mach 6's

i wouldn't fear towing with my setup at all,,just back the comp off a little and good to go.

SB makes a clutch for your needs.

That looks good to me. For the amount I tow, I wouldn't plan on any probelms with a setup similar to yours ICEMAN. How is your fuel economy and reliability. I'm not really worried about driveability, I'll know the do's and don'ts within a few days of watching the EGT gauge, then it will be second nature. I'm not really worried about economy so much as wondering how it does with normal driving. The most improtant thing is reliability, this is my daily driver. A few things broken or worn out every once in a while is aceptable as long as its not something new and expensive every day. I build and drive rock crawlers, I know about breaking stuff and fixing stuff.
