I know, I know... I'm pulling my PODS out and after a failed attempt at trying to trade them for 185s i'm considering putting my stock injectors back in. .

I just had the stockers pop teseted and they came out healthy. .

My question is... Do i use the thinnest washer from my install kit, like I used with the 185s in my 93? Or do I go wth the stock washer thickness?. . thank you for your info... ...

Anyone have a good used set of 185s?

I bet the stock size washer would be the one to use if you have a stock thickness headgasket. The spray pattern should be just right with them.

ACtually, all the stock intercooled washers I've pulled had the super thick (. 090") washers. I think I have a set.

If you are only going to be running them a little while, any washer should work, as long as it is new, and they are all 6 the same thickness.

Thanks for the replys... . I wasn't sure if the stock"thick" washers were there to tune it down a bit and the thin ones might be better. (?). .

Well just in case anyone's interested. . the optimum washer size for stock injectors in a 92 is 40-thousands . 040"( the mid thickness washed in the install kit).

this info was provided by Piers Diesel.....

OOOPS the mid thickness washer measures out to be . 065" not . 040" as I wrote earlier... ...

carry on... ... ... ...

csnider, why are you changing your injectors out? Bad mileage, too much smoke, reason I ask I am about put something in my '92, for some extra power. Let me know.

I haven't really did a milage check on the truck yet. I would guess I was getting around 17mpg empty. I was getting a lot of smoke and had to be real light footed to controll it. . This particular truck has a real tweaked up pump. Does at least 3000 rpm and has gobbs of power with the stockers. . I think the pump has a lot of internal mods as the lock collar is still on and I backed out the full fuel screw about 3/4 turn just to tame it a bit. . I can still get 25 lbs boost with the stock injectors and it still really, really fast. . with the PODs i could peg the boost gauge at 30lbs (half throttle!) and I just figured that was way too much power for me (and the headgasket). . I don't really have any experience with PODs in a stock pump'd truck. . I do know they added some serious HP to this one... ... . PODs would probably run cleaner in a auto transmission as you keep your boost when going through the gears... .

I like the way the 185s work in my 93 auto but they are hard to find at a decent price. . good clean power and decent milage... ... ...
