I'm having a flatbed installed on my cummins '04 2500 quad cab, short bed Ram and am wondering what I should ask to sell my bed with sport rear bumper and flipup tonneau cover? It's black and in exc cond, truck has 30,000miles? The flatbed place only offerd $300.

Where should I advertise? I see very low prices on eBay. ? What happned to the classified section here on TDR?

Thanks, bret

that's one of those things that you can get some decent money for if you find the right buyer, but you've got to be prepared to sit on it untill that buyer comes along

I did the same on my '98. way back in '98. I think I finally got the original bed & bumper sold sometime in 2000, or '01, for $900. So yeah, you may have to wait a while, but then, I didn't really try too hard to get mine sold (only put ads in one paper and not continuously).

My bed was only 1 month old when I took it off, so it was in new condition. The flatbed dealer only offered me something like $3-400 I think as well. I'd guess you should be able to get somewhere around the same ($900-$1000)for yours.

Now, I need to start working on selling the front bumper off my '07...

How does the flatbed attach to the frame of the 04 2500? Does it use OEM mount positions? Or is it a simple sit on the frame and clamp with u-bolts? Which brand did you get?

Thanks for the info, was the price I thought. Will give Craigs List a try.

The local company's installing a J&I Mfg NS series bed on my '04, shimming and clamping.

With $4 diesel I don't use it for basic transportation anymore, so for $2100 it makes sense to convert it to a utilatarian vehicle that's more suited for farm use and the occasional trailering of my tractors & equip. Plus, I always had trouble adjusting my gooseneck so the trailer wouldn't scrape the top of my bed and was always choosing the least hilly route. Now hook up, trailering and loading should be a breeze.

I've somewhat reconsidered the flatbed install (on my '05 40,000-mile CTD 4x4) and located a Gen2 CTD single cab dually auto 120,000-mile with 13 foot aluminum flatbed already installed, gooseneck ball, step bumper and receiver hitch. Decent condition for 13 years old and been farm use only for 5 years owned by a 71 year old man. I believe I can get it for $6-grand. .

. . did Dodge make C&C Gen2 CTD's. . or was this (probably) originally a dually pickup someone installed a bed onto and wadda you think about the price?

Thanks!
