Going from 3500 to 2500 regrets?

In a 3rd Gen, both 2500 and 3500 have leaf springs.

Also, my 04 2500 has the NV5600 and the 305/555 motor.

FYI as you were not clear on 2500/3500... A NV5600 is a HO Cummins and only available in a 3500. Trust but verify as a 2500 will have a 5 speed MT.

Be aware the 2005 was the changeover year to a G56. The reverse position will tell you if it's a G56 or NV5600. And I believe a G56, six speed, was offered in a 2500.

My early ‘04 2500 is also a RWD HO 305/555 with NV5600.

The NV5600 was available from 1999 through early 2005 in 2500's and 3500's. Not sure why you are thinking that they are restricted to only a 3500.

Yup my buddy has an 05 3500 dually with the 5600 and I had a 05 2500 crew cab long bed with it as well. Cutoff build date was like March from what I've seen.

The HO only being a 3500 option was never a thing on the 5.9, only the 13+ 6.7's. The Aisin is also the only transmission that was restricted to a 3500, since it's mated to the HO. All other transmissions were available on 2500 and 3500 trucks.
