I know my fan clutch is staying on. I am getting that roar all the time now. I also am getting a really bad rattle when you hit the pedal, about half way until the turbo kicks in and then it goes away I am assuming that it is all related but from the searchs I have done, it almost sounds like the valves or injectors may be a problem too. Do any of you know what this may be? Also when I take it in, do any of you know what flashes it should get? Besides the recall. There are no mods other than in the sig. and I am now running straight pipe with the kitty as of today and it is SWEET, a little rude but good and there is no drone on the interstate with the cruise set on 80. And no the roar was before the muff was gone. :-laf I also checked with dealer before doing anything with the truck and they said what I wanted to do wasn't a problem. (exhaust, intake, bigger tires just need to bring in for a flash to correct speedo, but did say might be a problem with leveling kit :( . Thanks in advance for any suggestions and help. :) By the way there is only 9k mile on the truck and I have tried taking off the MPC eliminator and putting the factory pipe back on, no change at all(almost a waste of $50 to hear the turbo whistle) the most the truck has ever towed was 5800# boat and was bought new in March of this year. Sorry to ramble just trying to give as much info as possible. :)

Sorry but this is not a DMAX site, all clutch fan problems as to the over heating issue must be confusing to this site. I would check connections from the sensor. It can cause continuous fan operation on autos. Had it happen on a Toyota someone gave me due to a jammed trany, when I repaired the trany and tried to smog vehicle, I found the engine running cold all the time and could not pass smog due to wear. It was caused by friend changing out belts and not reconnecting plug causing electric fan to always run.

I know this isn't a DMAX site and I don't own one and don't know where you would have gotten that.  I guess I need to make it more clear in the sig. I have already checked all connections and found none loose. Thanks for the advice. At the very least does anyone know of any TSBs besides the obvious recall and the doorseal thing? Yes I did the search and came up with nothing. Thanks for any help.

Hey Mike,

If you will be around this week I'll stop by and take a look. I know you only have two dodges in the yard. Not sure where he got the idea you had a GM. Good luck with the dealer.

Shop said they heard no noise. Of course it was raining and the truck was cold when it was test driven. Also said no problem with clutch fan from just a test drive but did say they had to order new shifter with TOW/HAUL button. The truck would drop back in 3rd but didn't lockout overdrive, when button pressed.

But on the way home it did the same thing once it got good and warm. I guess I will just make sure I can run it up and down the road next time until the mechanic can drive it.

By the way they made sure they documented "THE VEHICLE HAS NO MUFFLER". :-laf

I think RVTRKN was insinuating that the DMAX's have overheating problems due to the fan clutch failing, or something like that. He was saying that since nobody had replied to your post, that the subject matter was not discussed much over here.
