AMSOIL Bypass Install

Alright,

I'm still new to the game, but have a few questions. I'm a filtration nut. I already have a bypass oil filter on my truck and will soon add a fuel filtration system and a transmission filtration system.

First things first... . the fuel system. I want a 2 micron filter. I realize that there are two popular ones out there, which are the the FASS and Walbro. I haven't decided on which one yet, but that's a minor worry for me.

I would like to have a ground up tutorial on the setup of one..... Does the in tank fuel pump (lift pump) no longer work with an aftermarket setup like the FASS or Walbro? Does the tank have to be dropped in order to get everything hooked up? How difficult is it to hook one of these things up (I'm fairly mechanically inclined).

Are most people mounting them on the frame rail? What about the stock fuel filter housing after the install of the FASS/Walbro?... . do you no longer put a filter in it and just use the filter on the FASS or Walbro? If there's a FAQ on this, I'd be proud to read it if someone would kindly provide a link. Thanks fellas.

You do not have to drop tank to hook up.

We took off stock fuel canister to clean up engine compartment.

Why have two things that can go wrong.

wouldnt having the filter expose more to the cold weather promote gelling in and around the filter? would engine compartment be better?? IM NOT TAKING AWAY FROM YOUR SWEET INSTALL IT LOOKS GOOD!! However I was just wondering.....
