2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Gonna replace the fuel gauge sending unit this week ... any advice?

It was a pretty straightforward job as I recall. Nothing special about it. For me getting the tank off was the hardest part, but I see you are removing the bed, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Remove left side bed bolts, loosen all right side bolts. Dissconect left side tail light and tailgate wires. Have a 4x4 that you can lay on top of the rear tires to support left side of bed.

While under there check for any plastic fuel lines chaffing. My return line had to be replaced. I also ran my fuel down to near empty just incase.
