The time has come for a set of front brakes and I was wondering if anybody has found a good quality slotted or cross drilled rotor for a reasonable price. I've looked at the EGR line but the pricing is way to high. . I'm not looking to stop in half the distance from twice the speed, but just want something that will last, and add a little more performance. Open to any suggestions, thanks again.

Get a hold of Sam Petersen in Tacoma Washington. I had nothing but warped rotors and rotten brakes until I switched to his pads. Stops better and no warped rotors you'll find plenty of info on his pads on this forum. Turkey leg in Bend Oregon. 98. 5 3/4 ton long bed 100k miles

If you are not wanting to spend a lot of dollars but still want drilled/slotted try EBC .

I put these on my truck quite some time ago and have not had any problems, I am also using Rofren pads and they are low dust, non metallic and have held up well, have 25K miles on them now and are not even half worn, and are not tearing up the rotors any.

Have a look in my readers rigs for photos.

I was wandering how difficult is doing a brake job on 2002 2wd Ram 2500. I need new front brakes, and I would rather do it myself, but I want to have the rotors turned, before installing new pads, so I will appreciate any ideas by someone who has done this job. Thanks .

After 93k miles, and 3 rotors :( mainly the left side, I finnally went with a set of rotors from http://www.ebcbrakes.com/ and a set of Pads from Sam Petersen in Tacoma Washington and life is good..... After 15K, rotors are still in great shape and she stops like she is supposed to :).

Another thing to note when doing the brakes yourself is to make sure there is no burrs on the calibers and lube the slides well. I decided to replace the slides and took a file to the calibers to make sure I had no burrs.

I've had excellent results with EGR's brake lines. I'm on my second set due to my KORE setup. I didn't have much luck with slotted and cross-drilled rotors though. Removing that much material from the rotor surface actually decreased my stopping ability. The rotors warped in 9,000 miles also. I've returned to NAPA stock premium rotors and stock pads and am fairly pleased. Panic stops are kinda hairy though. I'd consider slotted next time and an alternative material pad.
