Looking for a top notch Diesel shop to work on my 2004.5 5.9L to do general maintenance and perhaps adjust valves on my 132K mile new ride.
Any suggestions, or your favorite shop in the Inland Empire or high desert near Victorville?

Thanx Grey Wolf. Ive been Googling this subject and those 2 shops in Lancaster both came up consistently, now you're recommendation. They must be doing something right. :)
Lancaster is only about an hour away, so not too far to get some important work done on my truck. Have they done any work for you?

MojaveJoe, general maintance is nothing on your truck. And if you ever did a valve ajustment on an old Chevy v8, it's that easy on a cummins. It's been a decade since I moved from that area, but the hardest thing to do was get rid of the oils, filters and such. You can go to the fairgrounds and the fire department has a place you can drop all that stuff off for free, (or they did when I lived there). Just the major work was the problem in that area.

I use to live in the Eagle Ranch track, and I've got family and friends still there, and from what I have seen the place has blown up in size and population. Got an email out to a friend that owns a Ford diesel to see if a certain shop is still open. Been so long, I want to make sure the shop didn't close. But Apple Valley is a bit closer than Palmdale. (nothing wrong with the Palmdale area, just the distanc eto get there). You should check the Hesperia area out, they had one heck of a lot of mechanics there, many for diesel.

AOB...I currently do all my own general maintenance, and have for the past 11 years on my 04s. Just looking for a shop with specific 5.9 expertise, for those times when a problem may need some delicate adjustment or complex procedure to be done right. I know my own limitations and will always defer to an expert before making a mistake myself.

Thanks for your input and any more in the future.

I met Betty back somewhere around 99 at a Tdr event at Hunter Dodge. Never had her do any work as I Do it for a living. Run into Craig at a few events-mostly sled pulls

I see, you're a mechanic.
Where do they do sled pulls in So Cal? Id like to attend one someday, but afraid Id go out and spend a few grand on power upgrades just for the rush, after being to a pull. :-laf
Too old for that silliness now. I find a lot of comfort in driving a truck I know won't have a malfunction, ever. Especially in the remote places I visit. 'Keep it all stock all the time, and you will seldom worry'...is my motto.

We have had them at the antelope valley fairgrounds,Tulare at the Ag center, and a few others over the years.I am no spring chicken and take my rigs well away from the crowds but really appreciate having a killer suspension to take the beating after many years on dirt bikes.

Hey Bob. Been thinking about adding air bags to the rear leafs for towing my fifth wheel. Does Carli make air bags for stock suspension 3500s? Improving the daily drive would be good too, but probably have to change the leafs out too, right?

They fit best when lifted. the full leafs with the bags are a pretty nice combo

The above post should have read "I have a friend that took their RV to a shop right off of the offramp I-15 N to U.S. 395 N" he said quote un quote Stay away from them. They were worse than taking it to the RV Dealer for repairs and twice as expensive.

Pablo is also an ex Marine,we have chased in Baja together and worked many club wrench days together, very careful tech with factory Cummins training
