I saw a ctd for sale today, 95 SLT Laramie, 3500 2wd, standard cab, loaded, stick, 116k, 2-tone&straight, chrome wheels, good rubber, 1 60yr. old owner, 4k, comes w/ahellava rattle-knock in timing cover, has owner spooked, possible dowel pin adrift? whattayathink? should I or pass? bothersome that I can't give it a shakedown run for steering&trans but I don't want it to grenade w/ me driving.

sounds like a KDP issue...

if you can do the work yourself, it's well worth it... even if you're paying to have the work done, it sounds like it might be worth it...

it is a LOT of work if the KDP bites... sounds like the pin might have gotten mixed up w/ the timing gears... that means even more expense, but still... if the truck is clean and you can get it fixed up, it's worth it IMHO.

see what he says to $3k and go from there!
