Does anyone know if there is any GP's on Mcleod cluthes. What's good price on one. I think I have to replace my stocker before I go west and pick up our new slide in camper. E-mail direct with pricing since the TDR prohibits us from posting prices.

Griff, when I was looking for the McLeod, I first called McLeod direct who then sent me to JVD. I don't think there are any GP's going on right now, but I would give them a call if your interested in the McLeod. The shop is run by Patti and Dan Haisley, great folks. They test each clutch that goes out before shipping to ensure that you are getting quality. Their number is 877-948-4050. Here's a link to the JVD site...

The McLeod is not cheap, I paid about $1300. 00 for mine, but the driveabilty is great, same pedal pressure as stock, no disconcernable chatter in direct drive and very little at idle (for me at least). Another option to consider is Joe D's clutch, I believe it is less $$$ than the McLeod and all the reviews of same that I have read here point to a quality product. Hope this helps.

Griff, I'm in the market for a new clutch myself. Maybe we can get enough people together to make a group discount. Anyone else interested?

Sounds good,

I like the Sachs models, Joe D has a great one. I have also been in serious conversations with Southbend, they have a great clutch with a little cheaper price tag. For those of use that will probably never exceed 1100ft/lbs of torque, I think they have the answer. Their clutch is holding @ 1100ft/lbs or 425 hp at the rear wheels. He said they have yet to see it slip @ the 1100 ft/lb range.

What do you guys think? I'm up for suggestions, I need a clutch to hold the torque from the #10 plate that I am waiting to put in.

The MU1938CON-FE sounds pretty tempting. South Bend said they would give a group discount that depended upon how many we ordered. Anyone want to ask another clutch manufacturer about a group discount? Need some input...

I could use a HD clutch myself, count me in.

You can count me in for a southbend as long as the discount is substantial. The 'ole demon is needed some more push. He just kinda whines a lot right now.

Ok... here's how SouthBend wants to handle this. Peter asked if I could just get a list to him (e-mail me, give me your name, and I'll give you the discount amount). Each of us would then contact him individually to place our orders (pay however you please) at which time he will cross you off the list. We can all order whatever clutch we want and the discount will be a percentage off the usual price. One thing Peter stresses is that we will need to have our flywheels resurfaced to keep the warranty (never done it but apparently it's pretty easy to find a place to do it). Also, the clutch kits will include the alignment tool.

Mhindman thanks for the offer but looks like it won't be too much work. Just in case anyone is wondering... nothing in it for me, just trying to get the same discount and help out a little.

The list has been sent to SouthBend. Everyone that e-mailed me should have received an e-mail confirmation and instructions. If you didn't, please let me know. Thanks for everyone's patience
