I have a problem with my 2001 that I am having trouble diagnosing. I need a good diesel mechanic in North San Diego County. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

For reference/suggestions, my truck runs great except on mild acceleration it sometimes misses firing on a cylinder or two (hiccups). The problem is slowly getting worse. Starting and Idling is fine. I got the problem to occur when engaging the cruise control and letting the cruise accelerate the truck to the set speed. Lift pump is providing solid 30 lb (FASS replacement pump) and I drained the fuel filter canister (did not find water) and replaced the fuel filter.

Problem has also occurred at full throttle.

Any help/suggestions will be appreciated.

Yeah, thats a bit much pressure in the LP. Back that down under 25 at least and preferably around 20 and see if that makes a difference.

Sorry about the 30 lb lift pump pressure. I thought I had a 30 lb gauge. On closer inspection I have a 15 lb gauge and therefore 15 lb of fuel pressure.

I installed the in tank fuel pump when my original lift pump became a little flaky. Under full throttle the pressure would go to zero with the in tank pump. It was so bad I dropped the tank again and installed the FASS replacement lift pump that I bought through Geno's garage and trashed the in tank pump. The FASS does a great job.

Thanks for all your replies. Unless I find something over the weekend I will be headed to Santee Monday morning.
