I read in the Drudge Report this morning that Arizona has passed a no license conceal carry bill. That aught to get some panties in a wad. Oo. Oo.

I've heard it will take effect in about 90 days. Not sure about that, though.

We've had an "open carry" law in effect since I've been living in AZ (1976) & things are much safer, here, than in Detroit where I am originally from. Detroit had very strict gun laws, also. Didn't concern the criminals very much. The crime was unbelievable in those days.

To be honest, I think I would prefer individuals having to take classes in order to carry concealed. Twenty years ago, I took numerous defensive handgun classes & learned a lot, from them. The legal aspect of carrying & using a weapon is very important & in some cases different than one would think. I was surprised at how much I learned. In fact, I'm seriously considering taking classes for the CCW License to refresh my memory on the laws. I understand there are some new laws that I may not be familiar with. AZ has a reciprocity agreement with about 30 other states regarding CCW Licenses, which would be nice.

Was just deployed to Fort Huachcua AZ/Sierra Vista and am back home now. I took a CCW course out there and it was worth every penny. I was pleasantly suprised to find out how many people out there were taking the privelege seriously and taking advantage of the ability to carry concealed. Given the state of affairs on the border and it being only about 10 miles away... it should come as no suprise. I just needed to keep the ammo in separate area of truck away from my XD 45 when I was on base... once off base... the clip was locked in and loaded. I felt much safer running the back roads with that heavy iron against me. Not a safe place around the border sometimes.

I hear Arizona is trying to do something about that since the POS Feds won't do anything to secure the border. Go Arizona!!

Not trying to steal your thread Blu. This man running for Gov. is from my home town. His father was Govenor of Alabama in the 80s. He's wanting English ONLY drivers liscense test. His campaign promise.

I think this type attitude is catching on.

There are many states that already allow open carry. They just don't make a big deal about it because it's a way of life. The people (socialists) who live in the cities don't know bout these things are part of the 2nd amendment. If you abide by the law you've got nothing to hide.
