Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Good grief, help! Can't get the cover off the starter cable

I got my contacts kit from Larry and am ready to go but the stock battery cable has a molded cover over the lug on the starter and no matter how much I try to pull it back it wont budge. Online it says to pull it back but it's so strong, I'm afraid I'll bust something.



Is there a clip or something. Honest, I am pretty accomplished back yard mechanic but this thing has me stumped and I dont want to mess it up.

Squart some WD40 on it. I did that with mine and then it would move. You may need a screwdriver to help it over the stud.

Well, I got it but it was brittle and broke. #@$%! I'll have to watch that and see if it causes any issues later down the road.
