I want to paint the brake drums on my truck, but don't know if it is a good idea or a bad idea.

Whats you opinion? Tell me the good and bad of it.

I basically just want to do it to dress it up a bit.

Thanks

MIKE

I have had mine painted for the last 4-5 years, I can see no negative too it. They do not get very hot so just a good quality paint will work. I used a aluminum spray paint, it holds up very well and looks nice. No one can see my rear brake drums, except for me, but it is nice to know they look good and are not rusting. The front are totally different, they do get pretty hot and should be painted with an epoxy caliper paint.

Painted mine with Gloss Black Rustoleum about 3 years ago. Got tired of seeing rust. Still holding up. Time to do the frame and the rest of the undercarriage now.
