NEWBE QUESTIONS.....

WHAT IS A LIFT PUMP?

WHERE IS THE LIFT PUMP?

WHAT DOES A LIFT PUMP DO?

WHY DO LIFT PUMPS BREAK ALL THE TIME?

REMEMBER I'M NEW GO EASY ON ME WANT TO LEARN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

I don't know much, but maybe this is close.

WHAT IS A LIFT PUMP? - I think it's like a primer pump for the injector pump

WHERE IS THE LIFT PUMP? - I don't know about your '02, but my '99 is on the driver side of the engine

WHAT DOES A LIFT PUMP DO? - Takes fuel from the tank to the injector pump

WHY DO LIFT PUMPS BREAK ALL THE TIME? - From what I've read, I believe the majority believe it is doing a job it is not designed to do (too far from the fuel source)

OK. Each question is worth 25% of my final grade. What grade did I get?

Go to this web site www.dodgeram.org You will get all of the information you need on the CTD, they also talk about the lift pump. You can also go to the search feature of this web site and type in Lift pump. That should bring up several threads discussing this feature of our 24 valve CTD's.
