I have seen a lot of posts about unknown trouble codes. I have been researching OBD readers and came across the following 2 resources.

Is a web page you enter the code into such as "P0216" and it will return:
P0216 Generic Injector/Injection Timing Control Circuit
If the code starts with "P1" it is specific to the manufacture like "P1106" returned:
P1106 Acura BARO Circuit Range/Performance P1106 Audi Bank 2 HO2S 1 Voltage Too Low / Air Leak P1106 Chrysler Barometric Pressure Read Vent Valve Solenoid Circuit Range/Performance P1106 Ford Diesel Dual Alternator Lower Fault P1106 GM MAP Sensor Circuit Intermittent High or Low Voltage P1106 Honda BARO Circuit Range/Performance P1106 Isuzu MAP Circuit Intermittent Voltage High P1106 Saturn MAP Sensor Circuit Voltage Out Of Range, High P1106 Subaru Engine Torque Control '2' Circuit
Also for the generic codes "P0" type I found a palm pilot application which works well:
DTC Search

Hope this helps someone,
