Has anyone dealt with “Good Sam” program and their "Continued Service Plan" on their RV? I am considering the coverage for my Coachmen Catalina Lite 249QB. We love our TT and enjoy the limited time that we get to use it, but I am concerned with the breakdown of the high-end items. The wife has already stated that she is ready to upgrade to a bigger nicer 5th wheel unit, that means a new truck (2003 3500 SRW) also!

I am looking for positive and negative experiences and your honest experiences.

Thanks,

Michael

I haven't used their warranty program, but I have used their emergency travel insurance and their emergency road service and have been very satisfied with it.

I have found a lot of extended warranty contracts less than satisfactory as evidenced by a lot of the letters in the Highway magazine put out by Good Sam. Seems like everyone that sells anything anymore wants to sell you an extended warranty contract to go along with what they sell. I know how much profit it made on thos policy's, so I steer away from them.

Most financial and consumer magazine's I have read don't reccomend purchasing them, and if you do, then be sure to read all the fine print.

Good Luck

I priced the CSP for my 1996 Play-Mor travel trailer. The annual fee was more than I have spent in repairs since I bought the trailer.

Good Sam

Like others I have not tried the CSP program/ The only extended service I had and canceled it after a few months. Wasn't worth the money. But will say that Good Sam TOW insurance is the best you can get. Oo. Oo.

I switched to their road service plan; when I needed road service, they went into a 20 question routine that lasted till they found a basis to deny service.

The "Club" carries the truck and 5er coverage, which is quite reasonable. However I have the tow package with Good Sam. After a fuel pump failure under warranty, we were towed (truck and rig) 54 miles to the local Dodge dealer after dropping the rig off in a campground with no expense to us.

CSP Experience

I normally never buy extended warranties but for some reason I can't remember now, I purchased the Good Sam CSP on our fiver when the factory warranty was expiring.

Within the first year of coverage, CSP paid for repair of the furnace and covered complete replacement of the cooling unit on the big four door Norcold refer.

As I remember, there was a deductible but I more than recovered the cost of the coverage on those two repairs. The reps I spoke to on both occasions were excellent and payment was prompt. When I sold the trailer, they transfered the coverage to the new owners for no charge. Seemed to be a good selling point.

Just my experience.
