My #6 plate is ok for around town, but somehow lacks in the towing department. I find myself having to get out of it because of EGTs at highish (>2500) rpm. Is there another plate that gives more grunt down low? Also, thinking of going to 370s, and a 16cm exhaust housing at a later date. Do the 370s really smoke that much? I don't know what I have for a muffler (cats out of the yard) but I do know it's not stock. A new system is around the corner for me before anything. One more thing, does TST still trade plates for a nominal fee (50 clams)? Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Dan

Might want to time it that may help in the upper rpm's... . TST I think is still trading in for a fee I think it is if your under 30 days or something like that... . 370 are just going to add to your EGT probs. . where is the plate set now?In stock position? You will defenetly need turbo mods if you go with the 370's... ... . There absolutely is a better low end grunt plate Dan that fuels lots from low end to top end, and it's a great towing plate.

Give TST a call & order up the 0 plate. Just regulate EGT with your right foot. :)

The #0 plate doesn't really appeal to me because I tow in the mountains regularly and don't want to spend more time looking at the pyro then out the front. The #10 sounds interesting (not that the 0 doesn't). What would I be looking at for power numbers, any idea? The turbo housing will go on with the bigger exhaust. Even if I don't do anything, I think that it would help. How bad would the lag be? Thanks for the help. Oh, forgot to mention that my timing is at 15, and the plate is a touch forward, maybe . 05".

Rick, I've got family in Waterford from my wife's side. Prob'ly get out that way for Xmas some year. I hear it's nice.

From what I understand the numbers 12, 11, and 10 go in the five speeds. 7, 6, and 5's are for the auto. I see you run the DTT transmission so why not call Bill and see what he says. As far as EGT's are involved, you get more power , you get more heat. I tow with a # 10 plate and 370's. The EGT's on a steady pull on a 3 to 4 degree grade stays in the 1000 degree area. The only time I can really get it over that is to "shower" down on it. I do have the Mega Cannon , 14 cm2 housing, and a RRook 4" exhaust. That really brought the heat down.

Works well for me.

DB- I would not add the 370 injectors-your egt's will be to high, you will be adding up to 18% more fuel with these injectors. I am running stock turbo with TST plate #5, upraded to the 215 injectors from the stock 180's, Megacannon and a 4" exhaust on my 96. You will need more air through the turbo with bigger injectors. I tow 13,000 and have to watch it in the hills but most of the time my egt's are ok. :D
