If nothing else, it's worth noting that the Cummins is not the only application for the VP-44 - here's some others listed:

Gary these 3 are big sellers and high quality vehicles in Europe. If the VP44 had any major problems they would not be part of these automobiles.

YUP - that was my intended point - the VP-44 isn't exactly an orphan or a castoff - some pretty respected names use them, outfits that stake their reputations on long-term reliability...

Does anyone know if the FPCU portion of the VP44's used on these other vehicles has the same connector and logic as used on the Dodge version ?
