Hello all, this week I decided to start on putting my gauges in myself, and after a ridiculous price quote from the local dealer on the 45,000 mile fluids change, I decided to get off my butt and get to it.

Got the boost gauge hooked up first, cheated a bit and got Geno's boost-bolt, went in with no problems.

Don't have the hoses for the fuel-gauge install, or the tap for the pyro, so I decided to route and wire everything for the lighting.

Egt gauge didn't light up (per previous post), still can't get it through my head that black isn't always ground... so... after I actually looked at the little tags on the wiring that pointed out that white is ground, I re-wired, routed and all is good.

Today, after an extensive search for Royal Purple 75W90 fluid... this stuff comes so highly recommended, but just try to find it in the LA area!!??

Found some, changed both my Diff's and the engine oil (with Delvac)

Diff's took no time, can't believe I've been paying a dealer to do this... 10 times easier than putting my exhaust on.

Engine oil change went smooth as always EXCEPT!! almost threw my shoulder out trying to get the drain plug out!!

Can't believe with the problems with these stripping out, that the dealer would have cranked it in so tight, felt like I was trying to break a lug nut loose!! Never going to let a dealer do anything I'm capable of!

Tomorrow is the T-Case and transmission!

BTW... Diff fluid was clean, and very little sludge on the magnets.

Anyway, thanks to all who gave me HELPFUL advice...

Michael

Hello all again...

Got the pyro install done today, can't believe how easy it was... been scared of this thing for 6 months, just take your time, and keep the tap clean and greased. Just like an earlier post, scariest part was when the drill broke through... no turning back!!

Put the 6-Speed filter from Geno's on, installed it on the passenger side per the instructions... here comes the (not so) funny part!!...

Never done this before, so I thought it would be like the Differentials... you know, loosen the bottom bolts first, then work your way up and let it drain...

Those who know better, start laughing now... all I can say is...

I got that bottom bolt out and...

Transmission fluid... . HHHMMMMMMM... not so tasty!!!

Transmission fluid is definately not "Good Eats" !!!

Anyway, thanks for all the advice... gotta go gargle again!

Take care all... Michael
