Does anybody know of a GOOD shop to do a wheel alignment on my truck that's located in the East Bay?

It seems something is slipping in the front suspension, because my steering wheel is now VERY crooked to the left, yet the truck doesn't pull any moreso than usual. When I park and center the wheel and look at the tires, it looks like there's a lot of toe out on both sides, but moreso on the right side than the left.

Thanks.

Rob

This is not in the east bay, but in millbrae, north of San Mateo. It's called Tire Imports and they have done a decent job on my Grand Cherokee. Basically the same suspension. It's on the Elcamino Real, north of Millbrae Ave off ramp from hwy 101

Most of the places I've called can't deal with 19. 5" wheels. The only place I know of that can is Winston Tire, the place that I used to have all my alignments and tire work done at, until they turned into jerks. On top of that, their alignment guy is the type that can only align to spec... he's unable to actually use his grey matter outside of what the machine tells him to do.

As for 4Wheelparts, thanks, but no thanks. I've sworn off ever having anything to do with them again, after their bonehead sales staff jerked me around when trying to buy nerf bars and shocks.

set toe your self, 1st the best work on this
is done by yr self, its easy
measure tire pressure also both must be same rate, measure distence between most
front tire start w/ middle of each tread
run pole across to middle front up to post
fwd of front side of tire chk distence
then do same for rear most portion of front tires, toes shd be about 1/16 to 1/4 inch
less measurement for the front most side
this is toe in ,
nothing goes out of alighment unless
its has majop wear or something is bent
some trks have adj ball joints to chg
camber and caster( tilt towards rear)
otherwise good luch, u may get some shims
to do this, gd luck, bill also chk ride
height above grd for all 4 tires, a saging
truck will be out of alignment just sitting that way

There is a place behind where Concord Motorsports USED to be off Monument. They are set up for everything up to big rigs. Do not remember the name, big grey building on right hand side of street about 1/2 block behind the old cycle store. Took my 96 there one after a bad spinout--very pleased.

DRT:

I know the general area of town, but not specifically. I don't know where Concord Motorsports used to be, and the only cycle shop I know of is the one across the street from the new Concord Police station...

Can you name a nearby cross street?

Rob

Near the corner of Detroit and Vista Del Monte if my map and memory serves me well.

Bug Out:

I called them yesterday... they're booked for like two weeks.

I have an appt at the place in Concord for Monday morning, as long as I'm not spending next week in the South Bay. If that happens, I have a backup appt for Sunday at Winston Tire. At least they'll get whatever is loose tightened and my wheel re-centered.

Thanks!
