I read this article and this seems to be for off-road diesel engines only that are used in the construction industry. I do know that when I was working at Cat there were two different emission standards for the diesel engines that the manufactures had to meet in order to sell them. The ON-Highway use and Off-Highway use that the EPA regulated, each had different levels of diesel pollution that they had to meet; with the ON-Highway being more stringent. That is why CAT stopped offering the ON-Highway diesel engine for sale and the lack of OEM users for their engines.

I hope this can be migrated to the US ON-Highway engines, but with the Gestapo EPA I don't know if this will ever happen.

Off-road in Europe, but it sounds like it could easily be migrated to our Rams. Sounds like it would be good, but probably 10k to replace when replacement is needed. The good news to me is no EGR. I have never liked EGR in any application. There are simply better ways to get it done. I will cross my fingers, but I have no real expectation that it will make it to our Rams anytime soon. Abolish the EPA!
