The last personality from the Golden Age of Radio passed away today. The last year had been a challenging one with his wife of 67 years passing away then battling pneumonia & going through cataract surgery. He wasn't on the air a lot the last several months but he did take the mic here and there and I heard him do the news at noon about a month ago. Paul Harvey's radio career spanned many generations, starting 76 years ago. . . I know my grandpa used to listen to him in the 50s-60s.

What a shame... . I can remember as a little boy, my mom would play Paul's show at noon. I would always look forward to hear his delivery.

My grandparents used to listen to him all the time. On every day at noon. Always good. One of the great voices of of Americana has passed away... he will be missed.

I really didn't like it when the local radio station would move his time slot around. Messed up the morning! He will be missed.

They had an awesome tribute to him on KVET (Austin) just a few minutes ago, and I am not going to lie, it made me get a lump in my throat. . He will be missed around here as well, and waking up without hearing "The Rest Of The Story" at 5:30 AM when I am getting ready for work is going to take some getting used to. . God Bless Paul Harvey!

... . I loved hearing the 'rest of the story'... .

Absolutely. It was on at 6pm on columbus WTVN, often a slightly long day at work would time just right so the program ran in the last few miles on the way home, finish up while idleing in the driveway.

And nearly always followed by a chuckle and "HUH! Well I'll be dam'd!" :)

I will miss hearing the end of every show

GOOD DAY!!!!!!

His son sounds almost exactly like him and I hope he keeps carrying on the tradition like has been doing.

I will be up, bright and early tomorrow morning to hear one of the last "Rrrrrrrrrressssssssssst Of The Story" airings. It's so sad that we lost such an awesome icon in the media world, but he is definitely in a better place, smiling down upon all of us from above.
