Goodyear All Terrain Adventure w/ Kevlar

Looking at buying this fairly new tire from Goodyear in 235/80/17.

Currently have Goodyear Silent Armors that have 50k miles on them. Unfortunately, they are no longer available in 235-17 so I must find something else.

Another tire I'm looking at is the Toyo M55.

I also have been looking at that tire and just haven't been able to find out enough about it to pull the trigger. All I have been able to really find in regards to reviews for it are from its introduction or a few low mileage reviews. I haven't read much about snow, mud or longevity. My current tires will be ok for a few more months so not in a rush. I have run the M55 before and liked it a lot except for the noise. I am considering those again and the heck with the noise. However the price on those border crazy. Your size may very well be different but I was looking for 255/85/16 in the m55 and have been quoted $380ea at the local tire shop. Looking online I don't find them for much cheaper and once shipping is added even less so. Even in the 285/75/16 they are wanting 340ish ea. The Adventure and the Silent Armors were in the 240 range in the 285/75/16 size. Another one I am looking at is the Toyo Open Country AT II in 285/75/16. I found those online for 188 plus shipping of 135 (for 4) the local shop will price match but they quoted me iirc 250ish ea for those same ones though it is also a relatively new design apparently different from the original OC AT. If you find anything out about the Adventure post it up would love to hear about them. Currently running some Michelin AT2's which for the most part have been fine if not great except for a couple things. In the slushy snow like the stuff that builds up on side of the road or between lanes it tends to suck you over very quickly and in the deep stuff they oversteer like no other tire I have ever had same in the mud. Other than that they have been great , however lots of snow and some mud are part of my driving in the winter and spring so I wont be replacing them with the same.

New Offroad magazine has an article on it. They seemed to like it. It's designed mostly for highway though.

In the slushy snow like the stuff that builds up on side of the road or between lanes it tends to suck you over very quickly and in the deep stuff they oversteer like no other tire I have ever had same in the mud. Other than that they have been great , however lots of snow and some mud are part of my driving in the winter and spring so I wont be replacing them with the same.

I also have the AT2 and like them except the weather checking problem that Michelin wont cover.

But I haven't experienced the problems with the steering that you have had, in fact I thought that they did rather well for the type of tire they are in the snow.

Now looking to buy something other than Michelin (Because of the checking and warranty FU) but will buy 2 sets of tires one for Hwy and then a set for Snow

Wont put Goodyear on ANYTHING I own, just never had any luck with them.

The Adventurer is the replacement to the Silent Armor brand. I have ran the Silent Armors before and they are the best tire I've found to date for these trucks. Would have bought another set recently but they are not available in 285/75/17. I have no complaints yet on the Nittos I bought but I'm still wondering if I made the right choice of choosing a tire based on size vs choosing what I know works well (The Silent Armor /Adventurer brand) and living with whichever tire size they have to offer.
The Adventurer also offers a 60,000 mile warranty which is up from the 50,000 mile warranty the Silent Armors offered. They also are mountain snow rated, just like the Silent Armors.

I got almost 80k mikes out of the Michelin's that came with my 2500. However, that set, including everything else they offer, does not have an aggressive enough tread pattern for my needs. A mud tread would be best but those dang things wear way too fast.

Since I switched my truck to DRW, I've been through A set of Bridgestone Duravis and Firestone Transforce that yielded roughly 30k miles. I'd have to check to be sure but the current set of Silent Armor's have over 50k. I wish I could find someone with a long term report for the new Kevlar tire as I needed tires yesterday. I've got 2 tires with sidewall separation on the rear axle.

I don't think theyve been out long enough to get any solid reviews but I can't see them being any different than the Silent Armors which also had the kevlar sidewall. The technology is not anything new so I wouldnt be worried about buying a set.

hey guys, I live in Fort McMurray Alberta, had some worn out Yokohama's, replaced them with the Goodyear all terrain adventure with kevlar in November of 2016. *when the snow and bad weather hit...wow!! *sliding all over the place. *terrible!! *i wish i went with the Michelin. *or my old Yokohama's at least. *can i return these, I only put 4300 km on them.
I'm 50 and never experienced such terrible tires. *

I went a head and bought a set not long after this thread started. I got approx 60k out of them and 3 winters here in Colorado mountains. I thought they did great in the snow and would buy another set. *Just sold truck to bil and bought new one so hopefully won't need tires for a couple years

Got the same size on my dually, but BFG ATS, very happy with them, gathering at least 50+k, 2nd set; tried Goodyears, hard riding, traction not as good, expensive. The BFGS were @$225.

I've got a set of EXO's in the shed waiting for my present tires loose their last few 32s.
