Who sells these? Does anyone have a discount number for any of the online parts places? I remember the belt was real cheap with the discount about a year back.

TIA

Not notorious but they do and when they do the H/D unit is better and cheaper to boot.

Goodyear Gatorback belt, # 4080810 or 8PK2055 one of these is the Napa number, don't remember which.

Also, the bearings in the HD pulley are replaceable. Don't think you can with the stock pulley. The HD pulley from Practical Solutions is a quality product at a reasonable price. Oo. Oo. Oo.

The Goodyear # is 4080810 (with A/C).

Autozone is now carrying the Gatorback Belts. Approx $25 for the Belt. I paid about $50 several months back then bought one at Autozone for my Dad's truck. @#$%... ... ... ... ... ...

What about the idler arm?

The local diesel shop cautioned me to check the arm for signs of wear.

Are they on to something or are they really finding idler pulley bearings failing and thinking it is the arm causing things?

The arm was bad on my 96 at about 100K. The belt on the A/C was running one groove over the edge of the pulley for a couple of years. I replaced the idler pulley with a PS unit but I had to change the arm to get the belt true again. There was no apparent play in the arm, just doesn't take much. I'm still glad I got the PS pulley - it's one well made product.

I tried everywhere locally for the Gatorback. I found one Goodyear shop that would order it for me. $56. 00+.

Practical solutions phone dont work, and I e mailed them yesterday, and still dont have a reply.

Is there anywhere else to get this? It's probibally a standard Cummins part, does anyone have a part number?

I'm trying to get all the parts I need so I can do this this week. It's supposed to be in the 70's here.

I have problems with the regular weather,(I cant function in it) so I'd like to avoid doing it when it's 95 deg and 95% humidity out.

My truck had 85K miles, and still on the factory belt, however since I'll be pulling it off, why not just replace it?
