Goodyear GS-A's cracking

Has anyone had a problem with the sidewalls splitting by the white lettering on the tires? I'm aware of the sidewall splitting by the bead area, and don't have that problem yet. I've got 3 very large splits on one of the front tires at 45,000 miles, and I was just commenting to myself that I should see about 80,000 before having to replace the tires. Looks like that won't be happening any time soon.

I take it there on the 04 or???. My Michelin's on my 99 had 80K with tread to spare. However living in So Ca the climate had it's way with the sidewalls, I had to replace them after 4 years.



I would contact Goodyear in Columbus Ohio "I believe" about replacing them.

Its a KNOWN problem with the Goodyears. Not a climate problem.

So tell me more? I just noticed my front goodyears were cracked and I have a bubble in the drivers front. I have a 800 mile round trip coming next week and I am going to buy some cheapo tires for the front to get me there and back. What can Goodyear do for me?

Goodyear replaced all 7 of my tires at 4000 miles with cracks in the side walls and again at 15,000 same problem,but this time with Buckshot Mudders.

Need to take them asap to a Goodyear store. Tires are warrantied pro rata for the life of the useful tread against defects in matierials and workmanship. Some of these have been reported ever since the 3rd generation trucks deput.

My local "company" Goodyear dealers wouldn't touch them. They told me to take them to Dodge (who told me it was Goodyear's problem). I went to Discount tires, and they would prorate them for me, but only against new Goodyears. The cost (after prorate) was more than $200 per tire (and I needed 6!). I had about 35,000 miles on them. I looked and looked, but I ended up getting a set of General Ameri-Trac TR's for $1000. BTW, everything I looked at was out of stock in this size. As it was, the Ameri-Tracs took 30 days for the order date to be received.



So far (~7,000 miles later) the Ameri-Tracs have been fine. Lot's of people complain about them, but they have been goo to me.

The company Goodyear was suppose to handle the warranty on them. Had this happen to me and I called GOODYEAR your best buddy number and they CALLED that STORE and got it handled. They know about the problem and want them handled ASAP.
