Today's (2/7/02) Washington Post has an article saying that the safety experts are unhappy with Goodyear's recall agreement with the NHTSA.
The recall would specifically apply to vans and ambulances. Safety experts say all these tires should be recalled.
Goodyear would send letters to those who have LT245/75R16's, telling them how to arrange replacement.
Also recalled, but whose owners will *NOT* be notified are those who have LT235/85R16 (size used on many DodgeCummins). They would have to call a number for instructions.
This recall program has not yet started - but Goodyear owners (and 51 other brands, according to the article) should stay alert for details.
