I just grabbed a set of Chrome H2 rims and am thinking about going with the Goodyear MT's.

Tire racks has had some very good feedback about these tires on their site by 2500 owners.

Is there a specific weight rating I'm looking for with these tires?

Goodyear Wrangler MTs were discontinued about 8 years ago.

If you're referring to the MT/R they will wear pretty fast on your truck and are quite expensive, but for off road (especially rocks) they're great tires. Not the best mud tire, but not bad either.

just under 50K on set of GY MT/R tires

I just had my second set mounted on my '03 3500 last Friday. I ran just under 50K miles on the first set. I use the truck to commute and tow gooseneck trailers around the farm. I run the LT285/70R17. They are load range D, 3195 lb @ 65 psi.
