This is totally off-topic, so if it needs to be moved to another forum please feel free... has anyone else tried out Google Earth? I was able to zero in on my place, and could even see all the junk I've got layin' around. I think I found the site of smoke-over- Peru... still a slight haze in the air and black marks on the highway!!

Ii use it quite a bit. Helps with work by letting me see a customer's remote site geography before going there. .



Also have used it for several other reasons as well. Really like the low price (FREE). .

What I like is go to Hawaii over the island of Oahu & zoom down to the Battleship Arizona. You can see the outline of the whole ship.

On a personal note, you can zoom in and see the LACK of progress at the World Trade Center sight. It's still just a pit... four and a half years later.

I can zoom in to the tent I was living in a a major logistics base in northern Iraq. I saved it as wall paper on my computer at work.

there are a couple of upgrades ($$) but I haven't tried them out yet.

I like it but for some reason my computer does`nt... keeps locking it up... GRRRR! I even tried updating the display drivers ,darn.

Google earth is pretty cool but, I noticed the images must be a couple years old. When I zoomed in on my place there was a car in the driveway that we have not had in a few years.
