BIG Damage from Trailer Tire

Anyone going from Wa. to Boise, Id.

I need to find a source for quick delivery at a good price for a 2 5/16 inch ball kit and mount for a 04 2500. Usually build these myself, permanent mount, but for this truck I need a manufactured kit with a removable / pop up / or similar ball. Ideas, suggestions, experiences appreciated. Don’t need it installed, just the kit.

B&W

My advice is to find a RV dealer near you. They're slow this time of year and will have em stock. Sounds like your able to put it in yourself.

B&W, and most others for that matter, will express-mail it to you. You'll have to pay for that of course. And then deal with slow delivery for this time of year.

A trailer dealer near me had DropnLocks, so I picked one up today, liked the simplicity. Was going to install it this eve. I have the correct kit for a new dodge but on mine there is not enough clearance between the frame rails and the bottom of the bed floor to allow the kit to go in as designed. Disgusted I undid what I had partially done and brought the truck home from our shop for the night. I think I’ll just reengineer the mount and use it as I need the truck able to tow as soon as possible. I’m considering the easiest and best way to do this this evening. I am wondering if DC has changed the dimension between frame rail and bed floor recently, or maybe the kit is just stamped out wrong. Could have probably forced it in but really its off aprox. 3/8 inch and I like things right.

If anyone has had an experience with this brand on an 04 Dodge, let me know how yours worked.

Update, I decided the simplest cure for my Drop n Lock was to re-arch the side plates, this may make sense only if you are familiar with the product. Pretty simple really, you’ll need a press though. Using the factory dimensions would have caused some mounting hardware to rub the bottom of the bed box. Not what I wanted to see. Still kike the hitch, it’s simple. Just took a little longer to install.

hitches

I have been very happy with my Una Goose hitch. It is rated to 40,000# and tested to 60,000#. Clamps around the frame and is easy to install. I do not have the address of the web site. Use your search maybe try this.

I was unaware that unagoose made a clamp on installation. Does anyone happen to have any pics of this setup. Im familiar with the bolt in , but havent seen one for a 3rd generation dodge

unagoose

I do not have any photos of the Una Goose for the 03-04 Dodge. I do not know if photos are available on the site you could try. I was suprised at the eaze of installation on the 03 the frame clamp seems VERY hefty. Give them a try.

The Unigoose is made in my hometown, you cant find anything else in the back of any pickup here!!! Cant say that I have one though
