What products are out there that will help allow a goosneck horse trailer to be mounted to a shortbed truck. It looks like the hitch needs to be extended back a bit to work.
I know B&W and at least one other manufacturer offer an extended ball. Basically a tube extension where one end fits in the pin hole and the other end has the ball attached. Usually move the ball back about 6 in. from the hitch area. Hard to explain, but I think B&W's site has pics.
Unless you have to crank the truck/trailer really tight, you should be OK. Boss' brother pulls a square-nosed 26' Featherlite livestock trailer with a S/B Chevy 2500 ext. cab. He has a B&W hitch also.
I've talked to alot of people that pull large living quarter horse trailers and 80% of them had B&W. Their was one of them that was a dealer for another company but switched to B&W because he felt they were better built and no problems with warranty issues(his opinion). I felt I talked to enought people that knew what they were talking about so I bought a B&W.
