Code Explanations

I don need no stinkin site!:p

I have the "01 repair manual on disc.

It's got all the codes, wiring diagrams,

etc. It's pretty cool:cool:

HOOooKAaaay - you"error code experts"... ;) :D

Running my ham radio stuff on my trip to Payette Idaho, I got a P 1659 error code - but so far, have been unable to find out what it means - it's in a code section dealing with computer signal levels, but available numbers skip right over 1659...

Any help?

I was able to clear the code, and WON'T be using my 600 watt linear amp until I find a cure for my interference problem...

Gary... a 3 letter call (should be on the ARRL board... and not here IMHO)

You need to refer back to any old ARRL handbook and review RF by-passing on DC lines. Taking the fundamentals that your emiting into consideration and calculating inductive or capacitive reactance circuits that may help drain-off some of the micro volts that your inducing into your mobile platform at key points. Even bulk inductive chokes at the DC input of your RF amplifier (linear... you hope) can make large improvements in droping stray induced RF voltages. After all the locked "code" is a symptom and not the cause. SO buck up soldier... your 3 letter call indicates to me that your "supposed" to be qualified to research this on your own and make corrections and share the info with your fellow TDR members that may not have the technical advantage that your 3 letter call implies

William

THANKS to Work2much for the pointer - it's the first I've seen that included my specific error code!

THEN from william...

LITTLE hasty with the nasty sarcasm, aintcha?

Read my original post, and you'll notice I didn't ASK for help - only indicated I won't be using the amp until the problem is corrected... For the record, I *have* managed to correct similar problems in the past, without any "help" from snotty contributors such as you...

And exactly WHAT is "strkt liddkt ttt,tt!" supposed to mean?

Or are you a Technician or no-code General class ham trying to create the impression you know something about code? It's pretty OBVIOUS from the above you DON'T!
