Got a new Welder !!!

I have been looking for a replacement tig welder for some time, and finally got around to buying one. Since I have had such great luck with Lincoln Welders, I staid with them on this purchase, I bought a Lincoln Precision TIG 275, complete with water cooler package, cart and torch. Also went on and bought the Power factor kit, Hand Control, Advanced control panel (tig pulser) and several other doodads for it. I'll have it sent straight to the shop, it comes from the Lincoln factory in Cleveland Ohio, just up the road a bit. With some luck it will be here when I get back from our trip (going to Germany for a couple weeks), then I can get started and finish several projects that have been waiting.

Like I said before, That machine should be able to do everything , except take coffee breaks and go to the Head. Oo. The arc characteristics on an inverter are smoother than a spanked baby's bottom:-laf . GregH

I would guess that the "kit" was about $3500 to $4000. thats worth it!

Well the welder is something I have been saving for for a long time. The list of the the basic TIG runner package is $4750. 00. The hand control is $299. 00, the power factor kit is $399. 00, the TIG pulser kit is $275. 00, new Argon tank another $250. 00, and an assortment of filler metals (consumables) , TIG torch parts, gloves and jackets was another $1400. 00. So all in all alittle over $7300. 00. But worth every penny to me!!!!

wow. . too rich for my blood, but a very nice machine. i remember using a lincoln tig in school and it was nice, but i like miller's inverter lineup also [i have my eye on a dynasty 200dx]

I've bought tons of stuff from them and usually receive it within 2 days and they have free shipping. Been very happy with every purchase made from them.

Thats a really nice setup and having a new tig machine is sweet but... . I bought my older synchrowave 250 with a water cooled torch, hose covers, assorted consumables, and a thumb wheel for ~$1900 out the door from Applied Equipment Inc in Dallas. they rent welding machines to construction companies. Great deals and I've had no trouble with my welder for the 4 years I've owned it. I've bought a plasma cutter and two different millermatic 251's. All trouble free and great performers.



I really wanted a new dynasty but I couldn't justify more than twice the money. Myne isn't exactly portable but it's paid for

I looked around and trust me Steve, I didn't pay list and the price you quoted was much higher then what i ended up paying. i only said the tig 275 Listed for 4800. 00. Also, while other may have gotten a good deal on used equipment, I have a thing for only buying new, it's never let me down!! Thanks and oh yell, trust me this order is also PAID for!!

Good deal - I missed that you said list price! Isn't that a transformer based power supply though instead of an inverter like Greg said.

Its probably a Hybrid, Transformer-Rectifier/inverter, like my older Miller Syncrowave, I believe. The internal specs. are not given on the Lincoln website. GregH

The first millermatic 251 was a 'demo' model. . still in the crate the second had been on a few jobsites. both great machines and ~1/2 to 2/3 of retail. The only problem I've had was with the plasma cutter. A breaker went bad on it. If I could have afforded new I'd have had it too.



I REALLY want a new dynasty. I just can't scrounge up the $$. too many other priorities. .

Thanks Steve St. Laurent. I was looking for a new tig/stick also. After lots of price checking, IOC was cheaper and great to work with. My new precision tig 225 should be here Monday or Tuesday. I can't wait!!! I'm in the process of building a Shelby Daytona Coupe Cobra replica that my goal is 200mph. If something bad happens, I'd rather have the cage and suspension tig welded than mig.
