It looks to be coming from a plug. The plug, I think, has a couple inch long "rod" on it. This is located above the power steering pump, between the pump & the block.

Is this a timing plug, press in, o-ringed goodie?

tia,

Forrest

Yep, that's your timing pin housing. I know they can leak, but I don't know if the leak is usually at a gasket on the housing or through the bore the in sits in.

Mine is leaking as well. I think its an o-ring or gasket? I'll try to look into it a little more, need to get this fixed...

generally the o-ring on the timing plug is the problem, but i have seen the gasket on the timing pin housing leak, not likely unless this has been changed before. try the o-rig first and make sure that the retainer ring is installed at the rear of the pin.

Thanks. That baby is really in there. How would you remove it?

Reach in with channel locks or vice grips, get a good hold, and YANK! Or grab and tap with hammer or bar, etc. It is held in with a star washer, it holds good! :(

Thanks DM & Pete.

This is gonna be a knuckle buster I tell ya. :D

So I'd better get the o-ring 1st ... Dodge or Cummins?
