I was going north on I 75 the other day going to Bay City and up from behind me came a new Super Duty and he slowed next to me and we looked at each other and took off,I didn't have a chance,he pulled away steady from me up til about 90 and I let off.

Im not much into racing my truck but I couldn't resist.

I can't believe he got me that bad,and I always thought mine ran good, ive checked everything and seems fine, tightend all my clamps 35 psi of boost so I know im not losing any.

And ive noticed it don't smoke like it use to,still smokes but not as bad.

I wonder if a Van Aakens can go bad,but the truck still run good.

Any ideas?????

Oh yeah his was an F 250

no matter how fast you are ....

there is always someone faster ... .

yes a VA can go bad , if you see less smoke that may be a sign , are you making the same boost as usual ?

DOOOHH

that is bad news.

maybe time to trade in those injectors, for some bigger ones. :D

have you checked your lift pump pressure lately? if its laying down you might notice it.

I havent lost yet on the big end. its down low where they get me... ... ..... if they get me. :D

I wonder with your truck haveing the 4. 10 gears and his the 3. 73 would it make a difference after you were up to speed a little. I think this would make some difference especially after both trucks already moving.

Yes same boost as usual, this thing really runs good, can't understand it,anyone want a set on DD1s,I see DD2s in my future:D :D

That truck could have been Bombed to the max. My son has one (the shame !!) and they will run. He has the hot superchip and my Dodge will still wax him. :D :D :D

There are some PSD's out there that fly! A good chip, 4" exhuast and a little propane makes them really hard to beat, like 400 HP or more hard to beat. You are around 290-300 HP I would guess, there are chips alone for the PSD that will put them well over 300 HP. I would advise guys to not race a PSD unless bombed to the hilt or they are prepared to lose.

Nah... . without propane they are almost harmless. I raced one that had 4" a Diablo Chip and some kind of freshair intake system. My truck only has an EZ and we were almost dead Even the whole way(from about 20 onto 80). And WOW those things sound nasty with a 4" straight pipe. I was tempted to let off just so I would not have to hear the thing anymore.

I ran into the guy today and he told his friend he wiped the streets with my dodge. I just kinda shrugged it off and walked on. I will hunt him down when I get some Injectors and SMOKE him ;)

Be careful about saying that they are harmless. I have seen above 140HP increase with our chips on a 01 stroker. I have one customer that hits 33 PSI on his stroke with only a chip. A week later he ripped the center clear out of his clutch at a truck pull. I have a 99 that will hit 26PSI. They run good, but can't touch a properly "TUNED" Cummins... .

I've run a couple PSD one with a 90hp chip and 4" down pipe and the other with a 110hp chip the one with the 90hp chip is a 5spd with 4:10s and we are about dead eaven in and 1/8th mile but increase that to a 1/4 mile and I can smoke him. As for the 110hp chipped one I can just bearly pull him in a 1/4 mile but he has 3:73s. The one with the 110hp chip is a friend of mine and he didn't tell me he put in the chip till we went to the strip, got beat once till I figured it out. (the same in it all)

Be forewarned they do run good when properly set up and most of them are little sleepers, they don't make alot of noise or smoke the just sh&! and git.

They might be able to beat me on the street but lets hook a sled to them and see what happens. :)

Interesting that you say this. . I've seen plenty of posts on the

dorf, phord powerjoke site (www.ford-diesel.com) about their

powerjokes being beat by a Cummins. There is ALWAYS going to be someone faster than you. It doesn't matter if it is brand f or brand g.

The real test is to pull a heavy trailer and see who comes out on top. Our trucks were not made for drag racing... Although it is fun. :)

diesel or not

I was just wondering if it was the diesel. I have a friend that has one with the 5. 4 gas V8 and it seems quick to me.
