got codes after an oil change

i changed the oil on my 04. 5 tonight. forgot and left the air filter unplugged and started the engine. then shut the engine down and pugged the air box back in. check engine light won't go off. i used the ol' turn it on/off 5 times and i saw the codes P073 and P107.



any ideas what these are? my service manual doesn't say. it doesn't even tell you that you can pull the codes with the key on/off method?



tell me i don't have to go to the ******* to get these codes cleared and the light off... .....

it should reset its self after several key on/off cycles... just let it be for a while and it will go away... .



and i find the lube oil filter much easier to get off from under the truck, with a socket and extension for the filter... being you have a 4x4, you should be able to slip under it with no problem

P107=MAP Sensor Low. Not sure about P073. According to what I read in the maintenance manual, section 25-6 under DTC Self Erasure, "After three good trips the MIL (light) is extinguished and the Task Manager automatically switches the trip counter to a warm-up cycle counter. DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) are automatically erased following 40 warm-up cycles if the component does not fail again. "



Looks like when you failed to plug in the air box (MAP Sensor) it tripped the warning. It should have been restored as soon as you plugged it back in. Apparently the light should go out after 3 good cycles and the codes should clear from the computer after 40 warm-up cycles. If you do not want to wait for all that you can stop by an Auto Zone or Advanced Auto or some other chain auto parts store and most will clear it with an OBDII scan tool at no charge. Anyway, I think that is my understanding of what I read in the manual. Hope that is some help.

P0073 is "Ambient Temp High" and is from the same sensor.
