The certificate is good from 7/15-9/30... . today is the 3rd... doesn't leave much time to decide.

Also, the literature that came with the certificate said the HO Cummins isn't available in CA, MA, or ME. Since I live in the People's Republic of Massachusetts, is it legal to buy a HO in a bordering state and register it in MA? Thanks for all replies.

Nope --

Had a friend who needed to register there because they were working for 90-180 days and was taking an apartment while there. This made him a komrade of the PMS.

(617) 292-5630 is the number for the Air Nazis, they've heard your question before.

Anyway... he didn't register his truck and was cited by some air-nazi's after driving by a portable test station along the roadway.

Was cited for driver license and registration violation, air quality violation, vehicle inspection violation, yada yada yada.

He Quit the next day, hasn't been back.

My '01 has the HO engine, there was no problem ordering it a couple years ago. Is there any significant change in emissions between the two engines?

are you talking an '03 ?

if not and your doing a '02 ... if you like BOMBing may I suggest a non HO motor. . they accept the fueling boxes better without headgasket problems.

What happens if you buy one then move...

to one of those states? Will they let you register it then? Example: I live in TX right now. I buy one of these trucks and in a few years, move to ME (where I'm considering retiring). What happens then? They can't force me to sell the vehicle, so how do I get it registered? If they won't let you register... well, sounds like it violates the Interstate Transportation laws or something. Anyone know?

Of course, I could always get transferred there and have my HO registered in another state and, being military, there's not a thing they can do about it. Until I get out, at least.
