Got my 89 Power Ram 150, need trans help

I'll likely post this in the Other section as well, but if anyone here can help, I need it.



I picked up a well used 89 short bed, reg cab 4x4 with 318 and auto trans at a auction this weekend. The engine seems to be fine, but it's only got 1st gear (could be second) in the transmission, no reverse. Anyone know of something other than a rebuild that could be checked to make it driveable.



I checked the fluid, added a qt. , no change. A lot of wires are cut, zero maintenance for quite a while, I'm thinking it was the kids play truck the farm. If I can make it driveable, it'll help sort out and correct issues while I look for a 4BT. I'll change fluid and filter tomorrow, just don't hold out much hope that's the problem.

Drop the pan and see if the band strut (or parts of the band itself) are laying in there. My brother lost reverse and first this way in his TF.
