Put my Comp on this afternoon and I don't think I have stopped grinning yet. This thing is amazing. Can't wait to put some injectors in it now, after I save for a new clutch. The stocker is holding so far. I am getting 34psi of boost and around 1200 EGT in 5X5. This sound about right. If anyone is on the ropes about piercing the wire, Go for it, you will wonder why you waited so long.

I hear ya! I have the Blue Chip 120 hp box. I was very worried about the pump too but figured I may as well have fun. I am also saving for a clutch, then exhaust, then some EDMs :)

Glad you like it!

By the way, the FMS has built in digital guages and stores maximum values. So far, stock besides the box and BHAF and straight pipe, on 63% (max fueling) I have attained 37. 1 psi (I know, kind of high), 1157 degrees pre-turbo 3256 rpm (has digital rpm too).

Yeah, I just had a new pump put on under warranty in December. So I sold my EZ and figured I would have the least likely chance of a pump failure with a brand new one so I bit the bullet and got the Comp. Glad I did. Hopefully the clutch will hold for a while. It sure is gonna be hard to keep it off of 5X5 though. :)

That's what I thought! Mine is starting to slip when I get on it. Keeping it on 35% (about 66 horsepower equivalent). Any idea of which clutch you are thinking about getting?

From all the good things I am hearing, will probably go with a Southbend. Not sure which one. In the end I will probably end up with either 275's, DD1's, or DD'2, and an HX-40. So which ever one will hold that power. Man these trucks are fun. All my friends in high school used to race Grand Nationals and Mustangs. Now we are modifying 7000lb trucks. My, how things change.

YUP - SBC Con OFE unless something better hits the scene - some of us are agitating for a group buy, but no one has vollunteered to lead out... .

Bunch of wimps... :)

I went with the 13" OFE just cause I had heard some stories of guys tearing out the centers of the 12"s. I don't think I would have had that problem, but better (IMO) to spend a little more money once than twice.

Driveability is excellent. I'm running DD1s and my comp at 7200' elevation and love it.

hope that helps,

Jason

I took the lead and purchased a Con FE the other day. Sorry.

Get the 13" CON FE. I can still slip it once in awhile. If or when you go with bigger inj. you will need it. You will always want more power. I had the 12" and it lasted for two weeks and started to rip the center out. Of course SB was great about the situation.

To go back and do it again, I'd try to get over 400RWHP w/o tapping the pump wire first, THEN throw a fueling box on there and really have some fun... .

But, that's not what I did, as the Comp was the first mod I did too, but I held out till after I had my transmission done to tap the wire... since then it's been all downhill... . 450 RWHP just isn't enough... need more..... must go faster... ...

I tapped the pump wire from the start and had lots of grins. No problem with stock clutch on 5X5. Then I installed the BD3's and I couldnt even turn the box on or the clutch would slip instantly. Now I have a SB clutch and back to grinning all the way :D

EDGE comp. or drag are great!! but now is time to check your fuel press. the new VP44 will NOT last at 0-3lbs of press. at WOT i run the drag box and DD super mentals and i love it made 472hp

I also ordered a new triple guage A-pillar and a new westech fuel pressure guage so I can keep tabs on the pressure. I am in the process of hunting down a fitting to go on the schrader valve. Can't seem to find one here in town. I guess I will order the hose and fittings from Geno's. They didn't have any in stock last week. Have to call them tomorrow.
