Got my KwikSpool HX40-12 from A. D. T. on Saturday... all I can say is WOW !!



I'm not so sure that WOW is enough. A better word might be... AMAZING!!!



I was running my stock HX35-12 with 275RV Injectors and other mods. listed in my signature. EGT's would climb very quickly in heavy throttle situations (WOT). MY EGT's are down by at least 200 degrees; and that is with the newly installed Step 4 Injectors. I could not be more pleased. I have elimnated most of my turbo lag as well.



My injectors and turbo were purchased as well as installed by Advanced Diesel Technology. As I've said before. . these guys are great.

I'm still smiling. Only after running on the strip and building boost on the line... . hehe back on the street its slower to spool up from a dead stop, unless ya build boost at every redlight LOL! Oh well, its still a blast to drive it.

You went froma Piers Turbo to the Kwikspool. I went froma stock HX35-12 to the HX40-12; definately less lag with the new one. It is quite noisy, gotta love it!

Yes, BUT I also went from the HY35 9cm² to the PDR HX35 12cm² to the KwikSpool 12cm². And to me the Kwikspool is just as fast as the others. Wasn't trying to put it down or nuthing.



What I meant was after launching at 8 to 10psi on the strip... . stoplights at zero boost stink now

What's this noisiness your talking about Kat? Does is whine more then the other's?

I am not sure what all contributes to its sound but I can tell you that there is more turbo whistle and you can hear more of the turbo spooling up and then back down. It really sounds good !

Kat, your saying the modified 12cm² turbos dont have more lag than the tiny HY? That's my biggest concern with upgrading the turbo. With the weight of my truck the lag seems terrible. I wouldn't want to make it worse, although I feel it desperately needs air.



Gotta quit reading these turbo threads, bad on the pocket book.

Patriot & Kat, YOUR TURBOS are making NOISE??? KWIK take them out. I just tested another KS 12cm2 on my truck today and I only hear MUSIC!!!!
