OK i got the 3 gauges cubby hole kit from quadzilla. No instructions came with it. Do i have to take off the frame around all of the controls to put it in? How do i do it?

Nick

not sure what it looks like or anything, but one screw under the trash bag holder removes the whole dash piece around the radio and hvac controls. pull that off and take a peek at the back, that may explain a little

ok X you have to pull the face of the dash off if you can't get it off go to someone who installs stero's or car alarms they will show you how to remove it . Once you get it off you have to unplug the wires and cig lighter, then if you look at the back of it you will see the cubby hole there are 4 screws take them out then remove the hole and put the plate in then put the cubby hole thing back on and put the screws back in. (The dash pulls off I did not have to take out any screws other then the 4 that hold the cubby hole in place)... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . P. S. I got mine last week the gauges will go in this weekend.

My 03 had the screw in behind the trash bag holder and the insinstructions cautioned to switch the pass air bag Off for satety and don't forget to switch it back on after install if that is what you want. Might as well wait until you get the guages so you don't have to go through all that twice. You will have to cut a hole in the cubby to run your wires. Larry

Apparently I do not. I never realized they were a crutch to make up for products with no instructions. Not that this product needs instructions. .

But please, continue to hurt the S/N ratio here.

No its a place to share information. WOW now i know what people are saying on the other diesel sites when they say "when you say something on tdr you may get bashed". Or in this case someone making a comment to belittle someone. I guess its people like you (in this case) that keeps people away from this site... Im sick of people doing this to me and other people that dont know every single thing in the world like you...

Nick,

Important safety tip here... open the ashtray and cupholders before removing the faceplate. The faceplate has metal spring clips in the back of it, and they will scratch on the face of the ashtray and cupholders while you're disconnecting the wires from it. I had my dealer install the RB1 Nav system, and I couldn't figure out where all the scratches on my ashtray came from. When I went to do some more wiring myself, it was pretty obvious.

Nick, my point was to do a search to find the information before you ask a question. This topic HAS been covered because I have looked it up and found the answer myself. Obviously you didn't look hard enough. If a product I had purchased came without instructions, my first action is to call the company and find out. Maybe they didn't make it into the box. Maybe they would like you to write up some instructions for them. When David suggested this, you slammed him. I believe you owe Mr. Muench an apology.

Nick,

Relax a little dude, David didn't say anything out of line, he even put a smiley at the end of it to show it was said in a comedic fashion.

Breathe in, breathe out...

Hopefully everybody has calmed down and Nick has the answers he needs.

I did a search myself and found only 1 thread about this and I don't see a problem with somebody asking for help with it.

If somebody has something positive or new to add, please post it. Otherwise let's keep our cool.

What you guys dont know is that he has done this to me more than once. I told him the last time if hes gonna do stuff like that dont reply to my threads... Now if this was only the first time i wouldnt have slammed him like i did. .

Today i tryed to get the cover off and its not looking very good. Im having alot of trouble i called best buy, tweeter, and another local place that installs stereos and they dont know how to get the cover off of the new dodge rams. . So i guess im out of luck for a while. I tryed to remove it with my screwdriver and i can only get it to come out but its not coming. I looked to see if there was a way to get up there threw the ashtray and cup holder and didnt see any way. I was able to get the rubber pad almost off. there are the 2 screws holding it down... . If someone could just tell me how to get this cover off id be ok. . Im thinking about getting a dash kit so if worse comes to worse i will rip it out. .

Nick

Open everything in the dash that can be opened (ash tray in mine but you may have a cup holder or something of the like), remove the screw from the bag holder and pull. It ain't gunna come easy so pull hard enough to get it without breaking it. ;) Once it's loose unplug all the wires fome the back and do as the others have said with the plate.
