Anyone flipped trailer springs???

I 90 through Chicago

I been knocking on doors of houses that I drive by and see a slide-in camper sitting in there yard that looks "restoreable", well I happen to be looking through the local paper's internet site today and found a add that said "Shadow Cruser, like new, Best offer" so I called.

Seems it has not been used for 4 years, she did not know the year but said they bought it 4 years ago and did not ever use it, now she has to sell everything as she is moving into a retirement village.

So I checked it out, it is a 90 9'6" shadow Cruser, fiberglass front, alunimum siding, 3 way refer, heat, hot water, shower.

Looking it over I found some water damage where the PS body must be leaking a little down onto the Dinette seat, and both sides of the overhang show water marks where the bed meets the wall, but no root, just water marks.

I explain that I have been looking at older stuff as I was only able to spend $500. 00, and said I was sorry for bothering her but thanks for letting me look at it.

she said "SOLD FOR $500. 00" :D

I dropped that baby in my truck, through the straps over the roof and took her home!

Now tomorrow I got to clean off 4 years of dirt, but what the heck, for what i paid, its like I am getting paid to clean it! Next weekend it heads up to Crossfork with the dirt bike!

Sounds real good!! I learned long ago when looking for an item to check ALL leads reguardless of how an ad might read or how someone else might describe something. Get there EARLY, have cash with you and be prepared. Suprising the deals that are out there. Some people, when they find out what I paid for something have said I am "lucky" to find such good deals. I don't think so. The above suggestions are work, sometimes hard work, finding a good deal is the payback/reward for you work.

I can't read the sticker to see if it says 1600 or 1800 lbs, anyway it is enough to drop me down onto the helper springs, and it rides better with it in there then empty. It rides a little higher then when I am towing my 5th wheel

Today I washed it and went over everything, all the appliances work great! but it really needs another bath, I did not have any "black streak remover", but a trip to Walmart tonight solved that problem.

Glad you got lucky. I am looking for a trailer to take to the ranch to stay in while hunting. Will save the 5er I hope. The older one I could just leave there all the time.
