Finally decided to get a 6. 7! Had an 06 Mega and really had a hard time parting ways with it, loved the sound of it, and the reliability of the 5. 9. My mistake was going and driving a 10 at a local dealership about a year ago, I knew I shouldn't do it and since then have had the fever!

Had it about a week now and have had a big ol grin on my face since! Ram/Dodge did a nice job on the interior and the ride is nice. Like all the extras on this truck over my 06. The quietness is gonna take some getting used to, but I know that can be remedied. :-laf Just gotta get brave enough to do it!

Patience and research pays off, I know I got a good deal on a good truck. I bought from the guys up north, (Dave Smith-second from them) happy once again with the deal!

Looking forward to enjoying my 6. 7 now!

congrats

congrats and welcome the 4th gen. I love mine as well. The only thing I do not care for is the mileage. I plan to fix that in the near future with full deletes and a Smarty or H&S programmer.

A very reliable source whose name you all know but who will remain anonymous told me that he removed all the emissions control crap from his '07. 5 Ram several years ago and saw NO improvement in fuel economy!

The ISB6. 7 is a larger displacement engine tuned for higher power ratings. It is not going to provide the same fuel economy the smaller ISB5. 9 did.

Harvey, how many miles did this person have on his truck before removing his soot scrubber? And was it just removing that, or did he also use programmer to stop regeneration cycles?
It seems to me that if there was much gain to be had, it would be through removing the regen cycle, and not so much the flow restriction through the pipe.
Just curious...

On my 5. 9 I would consistently get 16 mpg pulling about a 3000 lb trailer for work. I would get 17 with no trailer. Never did see much better than that empty, not complaining!

On the way home from the dealership last week, I got 15. 9 hand calculated. The computer said 16. 3, I don't go by what it says cause on my last four dodges they have been way off. One thing I do like is it don't take an extra 15 minutes to top off the tank like the 06. This one fills right up after the first click.

The Mexican '10 I sat in was dpf- free from the factory and was still sooo quiet. I loved it. Nicer interior and they recessed the headliner a bit,so this long tall drink 'o water had plenty of headroom.
