So I filed a fraud complaint with Ebay and PayPal, they investigated and informed me that if I send the item back and give them the tracking # PayPal will issue a FULL refund and chargeback to the Ebay seller. Wasnt much $, just $25 but really irritated me to have him just think he could ignor my emails.

Had that happen... bought a "brand new" pool cleaner and it was friggin used. Water in it, leaf in it, stickers peeled off, 2 parts gone, so I used the PayPal guarantee and the MFocker didn't respond until PayPal got ugly... he ponied up my $250 but I had to pay to ship it back. That ain't right.

He better hope I never make it up to northern Cali.

X1, no I didnt buy any extra guarantee or whatever they call it. I just told them the circumstances. They had the decision to refund my $ in 48 hours.

I bought a digital camera, off ebay using the buy it now, and the guy never shipped the camera. He ripped off a bunch of people, and E-bay blocked his account. I didnt like the way PayPay was handeling the issue, so I called my credit card company and they got my money back. If you go to your credit card company, PayPal throws the complaint to another department, and it takes longer to get your money back. Pay Pal likes to handle the issue internally instead of your credit card company getting involved. I didnt care. In the time it was taking PayPal to investigate the issue, my credit card company got my money back faster.

ripped off on ebay

I guess I can see the problem from both sides but it sure P***es me off when some dim wit won't follow up. Bought a wheel to be shipped from California. Told him to use UPS. Dimwit sent it by the post office. Post office can't find UPS address. No delivery. Sent the bast*** an 800 number to call me back. No call. Canceled the credit card payment. Now the dimwit calls. I SENT IT, HE IS WHINING. Stupid people shouldn't have access to computers. Finally got the thing. Ebay threatens, credit company ain't happy, I ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. Dimwit probably isn't happy either but he can kiss my- - - -

Stupidity and outright scammers may kill the classified and such as ebay.

Ebay wanted 25 dollars to make the guy do right. Something has got to change. They don't want to be responsible for anything.

I will be very particular about purchases on ebay from now on.

I actually had my e bay account hijacked.

Jerk was selling stuff under my account.

I (sort of) got it straighteded out. At least I now have control of my account and everyone that sent me $$$ got it back. I still have neutral feedback from one of the people, even though I explained everything, and sent her $$$ back.

Luckily they didnt steel any of my money. I had well over $1000. 00 in my pay pal at the time. I now transfer that stuff right away.

They also hacked my e mail account (same password... . my bad).

That was another pain in the a$$ to fix. They dumped everything I had in there first.

We have had our ebay account hijacked twice. They lock everything down for a day or two till they sort out what the shysters are doing. Yesterday we got an email from ebay security that some a hole was using our account to make fake bids. We try to get our money out pretty quick too. We also get lots of "spoof" ebay emails where these scheeming crooks that are too damn lazy to get a decent job like the rest of us are trying to get us to answer a fake email from ebay and give them our passwords. etc. My wife forwards all emails concerning ebay or paypal to ebay security for confirmation first. Turns out every one but one has been an attempt to steal our identity. I think we got 5 this weekend. I think they want our account because we make many sales above $1K and have positive feedback in excess of 300. I even had had to close our checking account last Monday because some jerk ran a fake check through our account and took $838. 64 out of my account and also ran a debit card transaction through. Lots of fun spending 3 days with Bank of america Security , sorting this all out and opening a new account, closing old account, getting new cards, trying to recover our stolen money ( did today)Oo. I told the scum sucking dogs that I finally found out had my money that there is 143 gallons of diesel in my truck that will easily get me to New Jersey to see if I can get any satisfaction out of bashing there heads with a baseball bat for stealing our money. If they had been closer I would be in Jail now. I was so ****** off I couldn't do anything but pace the floor for 2 days and nights. They made fake checks on our account and then had the nerve to tell the investigator that we gave them authority to make checks by phone. My wife says I aught not theaten to take a baseball bat to the $astards, but I don't like anyone screwing with my family or my living. Sorry about the rant. I'm still ****** thinking about it.

I believe the ones that "borrowed" my account live in lower NY state. I have an address that was given on one of the auctions. It aint mine. Money was supposed to be sent to this address.

It's only about 100 miles from here, but if I go I will get in trouble for sure.

dseabaugh,

Where in Nj are they if I might ask?

Eric

PS No it wasnt an easy password, however both accounts were the same word.

River edge New Jersey. Yes Ebay recommends you change you passwords so the scum suckers can't get into your account again. I have even been told to change the password on a regular basis. Sucks that you can't go about your business day to day without out some stinking rat interfering.

Go to Ebay.com. Click on 'help" on the top right, Go to related links ( second box on left of page) click on the 3 line which says "security center". From there you can get instructions what to do if some sob gets into your accounts and where and how to report it. NEVER use the same password for paypal and ebay or they can clean you out, make purchases and use your accounts to payfor them etc.

IF YOU EVER get an email looking like it comes from ebay ( they use their logos and everything) , DO NOT OPEN IT! FORWARD it to -- email address removed -- and they will contact you to let you know if it is an attempt to steal your identity or a valid email from them I bet we have sent over 50 to ebay and only one was real and the rest were attempts to steal our information. . I can't believe how often it happens.

I dont know. I've heard there are programs specifically made to grab or generate passwords.

I suppose changing it every now and then couldnt hurt. Also if you are logged in at a work computer, log out before you sign out of your work station.

It helps a lot if you have one or more numbers in front or after your password.
