Hello all, I have been in the dark world of PSD for a while and just can't take it anymore. I have found a 99 auto I am trying to buy, it has some issues... first off, the exhaust manifold is cracked, easy enough, the turbo has been leakig oil from the center section, easy enough. The big one is the O/D button on the shifter doesn't work, it drives normal and goes into overdrive but there is no light on when the button is pushed, and it will not come out of o/d manually, is it just the switch or could it be more?

Also, the speed o doesn't want to move from 0 until it reaches about 40 mph???And the little BRAKE idiot light stays on on the dash.

Thanks in advance

The speed o problem is the sensor in the rear differental needs to be replaced. My son had to replace the one in his 99 cause of this. OD button could just be a bad connection or switch. I am sure some others that have had this problem will comment on this.

You may want to make sure it isn't the dreaded Block 53 also. Do a search if your not familiar with it. I love my truck, but I would not buy another 99 model with auto transmission. I think it was just rated at about 215 hp stock. .
