 coming out of lot onto a two lane as I cross the double yellow I notice this frd turning on from the light at the cross road behind me - he's hot and rolling smoke as he hits the straight, I'm already in it aboult 3/4 of the way (comp only on 1/3) starting to make a bit of smoke, he's coming on quick I floor it as I hit the comp to 5/5 and start pulling good, he starts to edge up to my rear I run out of space as a car is in front of me and one in his lane about two cars ahead of the one in front of me. I could tell if there was more road left he probably would have crawled away from me. Real nice looking frd too. I get heavy into the brakes (which were loaded w/air at the time - I know, bad boy shouldn't be driving it let alone flexing the HP muscles) as he blasts by me and cuts the car in front of me off swerving to miss the car in front of him.

When the new 64/14 and Mach 5s go in I hope to see him again with no one in front of us this time.

Guess the "joke" was on me this time? ;)

Keep your head up. I think us Dodges have plenty notches on the Ford guys, it's ok to let them get there hopes up every once in a while. Different traffic situation... things could have turned out different. Go get em' next time!

prob didnt get spanked as bad as you think if he had a running start before you got on it all the way. Its hard to stop someone from overtaking you in a race if they get a good jump on you. Use to give buddies a hard time when i had my grand cherokee till they figured out how I was beating them. But good luck next time his day will come.

I wouldn't worry. Someday when he wraps the Ford around a tree while showing off... lend him a hand and offer to drag the wreck home for him with your Dodge. Besides, he probably spent more on wheels/tires and decals than his parents paid for the truck anyhow!
