I finally got them in! The sound is great not too loud unless you roll the window down or open the back glass. I ended up spending right at $150 for entire set up. I did scrounge around for some of the parts. Here are some pics. pics here

Thanks for the comments guys. I really like the sound they make now i need some carpet or a mat of some sort on the inside so I don't hear the road or the engine so much. All I have is Rhinolined floor boards. Kind of waiting until I get the cowl cracks fixed before I do that though. I hate the smell of wet carpet.

Hey MudCat what was the length of those stacks as im debating either one stack on right side or going with 2 stack setup im just not sure yet...

Those are nice Oo.

Don't get me wrong. I like the looks of stacks, but not for a two wheel drive 250. A Dually maybe but not my D250. I'd like to ride in a rig with stacks just to compare it with my open system side pipe.

They are 36"x5". If you do a search on e-bay for chrome stacks you will find the place I bought mine from, (probably shouldn't say here). They have several different sizes and styles advertised on there for auction. I just watched for a few weeks before I got what I wanted.

Oo. stacks are the best!!

I have plans to intall mine soon but I wanted to get some ideas from you guys on how you piped it. I plan using some of that metal flex hose and then going to a Y-pipe. Is this what you guys did or is there a better way.

Quote "Robert, they ain't stacks unless they are at least 5" :-laf Thats funny! But I thought at the time 5" would be a little much for a 250, and going back, I would do the same thing as the 4" suit the truck. For the crew it will definetally be 5".

Robert

Edit. I took flex to the under side of the bed, and connected it to the Y pipe (the top being in the bed) and ran pipe to either side and up. If the truck was longer (club, crew) I would definetally put the plumbing under the bed.

My wife is going to be ******, I'm starting to seriously consider some miter cut stacks... ... Just have to get them so it will still fit in the garage!

Check my readers rigs for stack install ideas.

On edit: if I were to do it again, I would set them up so I could still get in the garage. With a tall 4wd, it is tough, they would only be above the cab a few inches on a 7' door, I think it is. To all future garage builders, go with a taller door. My 91 is gonna get dual mitre cut 5's set just a few inches above the cab.

I'll offer one piece of advice on stacks. If the top is open straight up, not turned out, rain water will get inside and as soon as you start the truck you will have soot droplets everywhere. At work we have alot of trucks with straight stacks that are missing their raincaps, the roofs are filthy along with anyone or anything in the general vacinity. I think thats . 05 worth!

Hey I have a question I live in Alaska and have 92 w-250 I like the stack idea but we get to much rain, About 120 inches a year for steel to be used or it will be a ball of rust in no time. Also I have a rhino lined bed and am not to enthoused about cutting a hole in it but i would still want stacks even if i to, is there and easer way. Besides the wife thinks they will look good on the truck

92 W-250 4x4 211,161 stock i think and no not for long
