Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Got truck up and running again finally!

Got the side plate on the block taken care of and new head gasket thanks to CV diesel at state line PA. Super great guys. took a while to get in but was done in four days and I think pretty reasonably. I was still running the truck up until it went to the shop and at times towing pretty heavy which scared me. The edge comp died on me back couple months ago, took a little to get used to having only RVs but I must say the power ban is much smoother and tows nicer. After the dust settles from these repairs gonna get a smarty but in no rush. Glad I kept it, been one of the favorite cummins I've drove.

Didn't you have the tappet cover gasket replaced? I think I remember the thread a while back. I have had full intentions on replacing mine this summer as a precaution along with a 12 valve tappet cover but lots of other projects have come up along the way.

Yes the shop replaced head gasket as well as tappet cover (I said side block cover). It's so nice not seeing oil on my garage floor now! What's with the 12 valve cover you said you were going to do your replacement with?
